Will my dentist know what is being done at the periodontal office?
Absolutely. A periodontal office works in partnership with your family dentist. The periodontal office specializes and focuses on promoting and maintaining the health of the gums and bone. While we help identify decay and failing restorations, your family dentist determines when deteriorating restorations need to be replaced and when decay requires treatment. When you have your teeth cleaned or any treatment performed in a periodontal office there are letters, progress reports, emails and phone calls that go back to your family dentist to keep them up to date on the current health of your gums and any treatment that has been completed. We go to great lengths to insure that every dental professional involved in your treatment knows your current periodontal condition and all the treatment that you have undergone. Not only does this insure you receive the best care available, but it insures that everyone involved in your treatment has all the information available to phase your treatment appropriately.
